Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and proactive Programme Manager to setup, lead and shape the adoption of a PMO. They will need to drive project management methodology and reporting across the organisational as we continue to grow our business. This newly created role is critical to our future success, ensuring that customer, employees and departments are supported, engaged, and aligned as we implement strategic initiatives, process improvements, and structural changes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement the Programme Management Office, including governance frameworks, reporting standards, and performance metrics.
  • Develop and tailor project management methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Scrum models) to suit organisational needs.
  • Integrate methodologies into existing workflows, tools and systems.
  • Ensure alignment of projects with strategic goals and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed PMO practices and promote adoption.
  • Oversee a portfolio of strategic programmes, externally across different customer sites, and internally too. Ensure delivery on-time, within scope, and budget.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to programme sponsors and delivery teams.
  • Support employees through transitions by providing communication, training, coaching, and resources to minimise disruption and maximise adoption.
  • Work collaboratively with leaders, managers, and teams to embed project related change in day-to-day operations that enhance margins and operational performance.
  • Identify, monitor, and address resistance to change, developing tailored action plans to ensure engagement and buy-in across all levels.
  • Assess change readiness, conduct impact assessments, and manage change-related risks.
  • Measure and report on project progress, change adoption, employee feedback, and outcomes using clearly defined KPIs.
  • Lead change workshops, training sessions, and feedback forums.
  • Champion a culture of agility and continuous improvement throughout the organisation.
  • Collaborate closely with the Managing Director, Board and SLT to align programme management efforts with broader strategic initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

  • 5 + years proven experience in a portfolio manager or programme manager role, within a similar-sized or larger organisation.
  • Degree level education (or equivalent)
  • Experience across PM methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Waterfall)
  • Familiarity with change management principles, methodologies, and tools (e.g., Prosci, ADKAR, Kotter).
  • Strong attention to detail to scope and specify systems and services.
  • Familiarity working within a regulated environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Experience leading organisational change within operational and engineering environments is highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and engage individuals at all levels.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and translate into actionable insights.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing business environment.
  • Previous experience working within the FM or engineering sector is desirable
