Job Description

This is a part time, term-time post and the salary will be pro‑ratio to the number of hours worked.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise children during lunch periods to ensure safety and positive interactions.
  • Carry out laundry duties, including cleaning linens, uniforms or other materials used in care/education.
  • Collaborate with the Early Years team to support the daily routine and ensure a nurturing environment.

Essential Requirements

  • Experience working with children aged 0‑5, in a nursery, pre‑school or early‑primary setting.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Friendly yet firm manner – essential for working with young children.
  • Ability to work independently and take direction from the Head of Establishment.
  • Flexible/adaptable and available on 10:50‑14:00 Monday‑Thursday and 10:50‑14:10 Friday (or hours set by the Head).

Regulated Work with Children

This post is considered regulated work with children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups Act 2007. Membership with the PVG scheme is essential. Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
