This is a fixed term post until 26/06/2026. It is a term‑time, part‑time role and the salary will be pro‑rated to the number of hours worked.
Are you passionate about creating a warm, engaging, and safe environment for young pupils? Our school is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Early Start Club Assistant to help ensure that our pupils start their day with a smile and a sense of security.
Responsibilities
- Create a welcoming and safe environment by supervising and engaging with pupils in the hall or playground.
- Set up and clear the room, and assist with breakfast service.
- Support pupils in developing independence, encourage good behaviour, and provide comfort for minor accidents or upsets.
- Maintain a warm, approachable manner and promote the school’s positive ethos.
Requirements
- This post is Regulated Work with Children under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2020 and membership with the PVG scheme is essential.
- Preferred applicants will be required to become members of the relevant PVG scheme, or undergo a PVG Scheme update check prior to a formal offer being made by West Dunbartonshire Council.
- Key experience includes working with children and strong communication skills.
Legal
The employment for which you are applying is excepted from the provisions of section 4(2) of the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975. Applicants are therefore not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions which, for other purposes, are “spent” under the provisions of the Act. In the event of employment any failure to disclose such convictions could result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
