Requirements
- A Head Teacher Report must be completed by the candidate’s Head Teacher and attached to the application before the closing date. Upload this report in the "COVER LETTER" section of the application; a cover letter is not required.
- Evidence of Catholic Church Approval: applicants must seek approval when submitting the application and provide a copy to the Chair of the Panel prior to the interview. Pending applications will be confirmed with the Church Representative.
- Denominational Primary Posts: a permanent applicant must hold either a Catholic Teaching Certificate or a Catholic Religious Education Certificate.
- Denominational Secondary Posts: applicants must hold RC Approval for the school they are applying to. Further forms and information are available from the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES) website.
Responsibilities
- This position is regulated work involving children and falls under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. Membership of the relevant PVG scheme is essential; preferred applicants will need to become members or undergo an update check before a formal offer is made.
- The role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders (Exceptions) Order 1975 provisions; applicants are not statutorily entitled to withhold information about convictions. Failure to disclose convictions may result in dismissal or disciplinary action.
