About the Role
The OB Guarantee Engineer is both an office‑based and an on‑site role, responsible for delivering on various OB projects. The role ensures smooth communication across each project between logistics, clients, crew, equipment and production through delivery. It oversees planning, logistics and ensures successful delivery for outside broadcasting of live sports, entertainment, music and commercial work.
Responsibilities
- Responsibility and oversight across technical aspects of assigned OBs, productions or projects
- Lead team members with planning, design, prep and implementation of projects
- Operate and guarantee on‑site OBs, off‑site or remote workflows
- Collaborate with the CTO and technical, production and engineering teams to document, draw up technical plans, configure and test technology, guaranteeing implementation on‑site
- Assist with design and build of project‑specific equipment configurations, racks and programming
- Maintain technical logs and systems documentation
- Develop new systems, software or hardware to streamline delivery, improve performance or achieve new goals
- Perform diagnostics and repairs on equipment, including maintaining the company’s galleries, fly‑aways and OB vehicles
- Research new technologies and methods for personal and professional development
- Attend and contribute to strategy, innovation and planning meetings
- Research the latest systems and workflows to increase operational efficiency
- Support other areas of the business and complete necessary paperwork
Qualifications
