About the Role
The Senior Systems Analyst, SICS supports the delivery and ongoing operation of the SICS reinsurance platform and its integrations. The role blends hands-on system configuration, testing and release support with strong stakeholder engagement across Operations, Claims and Reinsurance Accounting. You will help translate business needs into well-defined enhancements, troubleshoot production issues and drive continuous improvement across core reinsurance processing workflows (including eMessaging, claims and technical accounting).
Key Responsibilities
- System configuration & enhancement delivery (SICS)
- Configure and validate SICS rule sets, reference data, worksheet behaviours and automation logic across releases.
- Own and progress Jira items (bugs/enhancements) from investigation through to delivery and validation.
- Support release readiness (impact assessment, release notes review and upgrade activities).
- eMessaging subject-matter expertise (Lloyd’s / LIRMA / B2B)
- Implement and test eMessaging rules/mappings (Lloyd’s, LIRMA and B2B), including validation logic and walk-back resolution.
- Troubleshoot and resolve eMessaging defects and operational issues raised by end users.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of messaging rules/standards, working with vendor/partner teams and relevant user groups.
- Testing, release & deployment
- Support UAT and regression testing with cross-functional stakeholders; coordinate test sign-off.
- Execute system and integration testing for new/enhanced functionality.
- Support controlled releases/deployments using runbooks; monitor outcomes and assist with post-release issues.
- Stakeholder management & production support
- Partner with Operations, Claims and Finance to clarify requirements, assess impacts and agree solutions.
- Liaise with external vendors/partners and user groups to resolve defects and deliver enhancements.
- Investigate production incidents and configuration queries; drive root-cause resolution.
- Maintain a prioritised Jira backlog; ensure appropriate documentation/traceability to support audit and control requirements (e.g., SOX).
Skills & Qualifications
- Essential
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SICS modules (Claims, Operations, Technical Accounting, eMessaging and/or Multi-GAAP).
- Proven experience using Jira for issue triage, investigation and backlog management.
- Good understanding of system integrations and data flows (e.g., messaging, APIs and scheduling/extract processes).
- Experience supporting UAT environments and controlled releases/deployments.
- Ideally a working knowledge of SQL.
