Digital Learning and Learner Experience Lead in London

Law Training Centre is looking for an experienced digital learning professional. You will improve, modernise and scale our online learning provision. This is an initial three-month fixed-term contractor engagement, beginning with a paid pilot project. If the pilot is successful, this will be followed by an initial three-month fixed-term engagement.

About the role: Law Training Centre delivers professional legal education and regulated qualifications through online learning. We have strong subject matter expertise and high-quality course content. We are looking for you to improve how learners experience that content through its design and presentation. This is a hands-on role. You will build, improve and implement, not simply advise. You will work closely with our academic team and bring your own judgement, ideas and experience. We make decisions quickly, so you can test and implement strong ideas without lengthy approval processes.

What you will do: You will:

• transform expert-led content into engaging and visually polished digital learning;
• design clear learning journeys for self-paced adult learners;
• improve existing courses rather than reproduce source materials;
• create interactive activities, assessments, knowledge checks and learning resources;
• use modern authoring tools and AI-enabled technology to improve quality and production efficiency;
• develop reusable templates, structures and production methods;
• improve consistency, usability and presentation across courses;
• work effectively with subject matter experts while reducing unnecessary review and rework;
• identify and implement practical improvements to learning design, production processes and learner experience.

What we are looking for in you: You will normally have at least three years of relevant experience in digital learning, instructional design, learner experience, e-Learning development or a closely related field. You will have strong experience in several of the following areas:

• adult and professional learning;
• AI-assisted content production;
• assessment and learner engagement;
• digital learning design and development;
• learning management systems such as Moodle or similar;
• learner experience and self-paced course design;
• Rise 360, Storyline or comparable authoring tools;
• SCORM-based course production and testing;
• working with subject matter experts;
• producing visually strong and engaging online learning.

You do not need experience in legal education. However, experience designing learning for adults in professional education, technical training, regulated learning or another complex knowledge-based environment is highly desirable and will be a significant advantage.

You will influence how learning products are designed, built and improved across the organisation. The work is intellectually demanding, but the operating environment is practical.
