About Us

Limited Edition Event Design is the UK’s leading technical production and design house for red-carpet events. We deliver cutting-edge design and technical solutions across the entertainment and events industry.

In the past year alone, we’ve designed, managed, and installed the technical production for various high-profile projects. We’ve also supported world-class awards ceremonies including BAFTA, The London Fashion Awards, and The Olivier Awards.

With over 160 events a year, we’re a fast-paced, creative, and highly collaborative production house.

The Role

We’re looking for a dynamic and hands-on Head of Lighting & Technical Production to lead from the front — overseeing projects from conception to completion. You’ll bring deep technical expertise, creative flair, and exceptional leadership skills to manage lighting design, technical production, rigging design, power systems, and logistics across a wide range of high-profile events.

This is a hybrid role, split between working from home, our Milton Keynes office, and onsite delivery in London and across the UK. Flexibility is key.

Key Responsibilities

  • Attend client and production meetings (in person and via Zoom) to define technical requirements and schedules.
  • Conduct detailed site surveys and create accurate 2D/3D drawings in Vectorworks.
  • Design lighting, rigging, LED screens, and staging layouts, integrating all technical elements cohesively.
  • Produce detailed kit specifications, power distribution systems along with DMX / Networking system design.
  • Act as Senior Project Manager onsite, leading load-ins/outs, crew management, client liaison, and ensuring H&S compliance.
  • Program and operate lighting desks and occasionally basic video/sound systems.
  • Research and integrate new technologies and innovations into live projects.
  • Manage event budgets, ensuring accurate costings and profitability.
  • Be part of the Limited Edition family — ready to jump in and help wherever needed.

About You

You’ll be an experienced and versatile technical production professional with:

  • Extensive experience in lighting design, specification & installation.
  • Broad technical knowledge including LED screens, staging, rigging, and scenic elements.
  • Temporary power design expertise (BS7909 certification highly advantageous).
  • Proficiency in Vectorworks (2D & 3D).
  • Competence with lighting control systems.
  • Powered access (IPAF) and other relevant training.
  • Proven experience leading large teams and delivering large-scale live events.
  • A proactive, positive, and solution-driven attitude.

What We Offer

Join a small, tight-knit team supported by an incredible network of top-tier freelancers. You’ll work alongside some of the most creative minds in the industry, with opportunities to shape iconic events seen around the world.

Benefits include:

  • Private healthcare (WPA PPP, post qualifying period)
  • Company pension scheme
  • 20 days annual leave (rising to 25 with service)
  • Annual performance-related bonus
  • Continuous training & certification
  • Company laptop provided

Next Steps

First-round interviews will be held via Zoom, with final interviews in person. Ideally, you’ll be available to start within four weeks of offer.

To apply: Please email your CV and a cover letter.
