The ARRS funding has created a great opportunity for a GP to join our practice. This role is subject to ARRS eligibility, and applicants must not have been substantively employed as a GP within our PCN in the previous 12 months. The successful applicant will gain valuable experience working as part of a supportive, multidisciplinary team in the centre of Dudley. They will manage a defined caseload and work with patients presenting with a wide range of health needs in a primary care setting, ensuring the highest standards of care for all registered patients.
Main duties of the job
- Providing face‑to‑face surgery consultations, telephone consultations, and responding to clinical queries.
- Undertaking home visits for housebound patients where required.
- Acting as the duty on‑call GP on allocated days in line with the practice rota.
- Managing and prioritising a clinical caseload, including patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations.
- Assessing patients for disease risk factors and early indicators of illness.
- Developing and reviewing individual care plans in partnership with patients and in line with current practice and disease management protocols.
- Providing ongoing care, including counselling, health promotion, and patient education.
- Referring patients to other healthcare professionals and services as appropriate.
- Checking, authorising, and signing acute and repeat prescriptions, and managing related queries.
- Reviewing and actioning laboratory results and clinical correspondence in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Completing clinical tasks using EMIS and Docman.
- Maintaining clear, accurate, and contemporaneous clinical records in line with agreed standards.
- Participating in clinical audit and quality improvement activity as required.

The practice is a member of Dudley and Netherton Primary Care Network (PCN) and provides comprehensive primary care services to a diverse community with a wide range of health needs. Job description and responsibilities
The ARRS funding has created an excellent opportunity for a GP to join the team. The post‑holder must not have previously worked within the Dudley and Netherton PCN. The role is for 6 sessions per week, working on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, based at a health centre in the heart of Dudley. The successful candidate will work alongside a supportive multidisciplinary team, managing a caseload and addressing a wide range of health needs within a primary care setting. They will be responsible for delivering safe, high‑quality care to all registered patients, ensuring the highest clinical standards are maintained at all times.
Person Specification – Qualifications
- Fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practice.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
- Eligible for ARRS GP funding, including not having been substantively employed as a GP within our PCN in the previous 12 months.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team.
- Commitment to high quality, patient centred care.
- Desirable: Previously qualified GP (experienced GPs welcome).
- Previous experience working in UK general practice.
- Experience of working with EMIS Web clinical systems.
- Interest in clinical audit, quality improvement, or portfolio working.
