As an Ecommerce Product Owner, your responsibilities will include defining the scope and feature requirements and supporting the overall execution of eCommerce projects. You will act as a bridge between the Solutions, Project Management, Design and Development Teams by defining the product vision, writing user stories and acceptance criteria. You’ll work closely with solution architects, project managers, designers, developers and client stakeholders, ensuring the final product meets business requirements while maintaining high standards of quality, accessibility and user experience.
Role & Responsibilities
- Translate business requirements into clear user stories, technical requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Collaborate with Solutions, Development, Creative and Project Management Teams to scope, define and deliver new features.
- Participate in key stakeholder meetings and workshops to understand the scope of work and requirements.
- Participate in agile ceremonies including sprint planning, design to development handovers, backlog refinement and sprint retrospectives.
- Work closely with Solution Architects to design scalable and maintainable solutions.
- Define the structure for tasks & deliverables that can be followed throughout all of the agency projects.
- Ensure compliance with key regulations and standards (e.g., performance, Core Web Vitals, security, accessibility, user experience).
- Clearly communicate product progress & risks to the project teams when required.
- Use AI tools to draft, refine and structure user stories, acceptance criteria and technical specifications, reducing manual documentation overhead.
- Write acceptance criteria in structured, testable formats (e.g. Gherkin/BDD) that feed directly into automated test pipelines, enabling continuous quality validation.
- Own the spec-to-test pipeline in collaboration with QA and development, ensuring every specification has corresponding automated coverage before features are released.
Core Skills
- You have a strong knowledge of eCommerce platforms (e.g Shopify, Centra or similar).
- You have 3-5 years of product owner experience, with a proven record of eCommerce and digital project execution.
- You have experience with project management tools such as ClickUp, Asana, Jira.
- You have a strong understanding of overall eCommerce architecture including frontend, backend, system dependencies and third party integrations.
- You have managed both delivery of client facing design-led features and backend integrations including order management & ERPs, payment gateways, marketing and personalisation platforms.
- You have worked with API-driven architectures and headless eCommerce solutions.
- You are a team player and enjoy collaborating with other members of the team, as well as resources based out of the UK.
- You are able to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
- You have a strong attention to detail.
- You have excellent verbal and written English.
- Familiarity with BDD methodologies and tools (Gherkin, Cucumber, or similar).
- Experience using AI tools (e.g. Claude, Copilot or similar) to accelerate specification and documentation work.
- Understanding of how acceptance criteria map to automated test scripts (Playwright, Cypress or similar).

Interview Process
We will invite selected candidates to a first interview (30–45 minutes) with the Head of Client Success and Head of Development, where we’ll cover introductions, relevant experience, and questions. If successful in the first interview, you’ll be invited to participate in the second and usually a final stage, which will involve creating a short presentation in response to our task, which will help us assess your experience and product management skills.
