The Opportunity

We are expanding our Insurance and Operations transformation capability and are looking for multiple Change & Excellence professionals to play a pivotal role in shaping how change is delivered across the business. Sitting within a high-impact core change team, these roles lead complex, strategic initiatives that span multiple P&Ls, as well as enterprise-wide priorities that sit outside traditional silos. These are senior, hands-on change roles for experienced professionals who are comfortable leading initiatives end-to-end, shaping the approach, and doing the work where required. You will operate in environments where outcomes are clear, but the path to get there is not – requiring judgement, adaptability, and strong collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders. Having the right to work in the UK is a requirement for this role. QBE may consider sponsorship at its discretion.

About QBE

At QBE, we get to the heart of what matters for our customers. And we do it all with a human touch. We’re an international insurer with more than 13,000 people working across 26 countries – which means we’re big enough for your ambitions, yet small enough for you to make a real impact. It’s an exciting time. We’re building momentum towards our vision to become the most consistent and innovative risk partner.

Your new role

  • Lead complex, enterprise-wide change initiatives spanning multiple P&Ls and functional boundaries
  • Shape work from first principles - defining problems, outcomes and approaches in ambiguous environments
  • Design and drive pragmatic delivery plans, adapting structure and governance as initiatives evolve
  • Act as the connective tissue across change, bringing together SMEs from technology, legal, risk, compliance, finance and operations
  • Confidently engage and influence senior stakeholders, even where subject matter is unfamiliar
  • Translate business needs into clear, outcome-focused requirements, bridging business and technology teams
  • Maintain momentum across multiple workstreams, ensuring alignment, progress and effective decision-making
  • Embed continuous improvement thinking, using insight and data to focus on impact and benefits realisation

About You

  • Significant experience delivering business change, transformation or consulting engagements
  • Strong cross-functional experience, navigating complex organisational and stakeholder landscapes
  • Consulting or advisory background (e.g. Big 4 or similar), ideally with financial services clients
  • London market or general insurance knowledge is required
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, focusing on outcomes rather than predefined solutions
  • Confidence leading senior stakeholder discussions across legal, risk, compliance, finance and technology
  • Ability to engage effectively with technology teams without being a deep technical specialist
  • Excellent structuring, problem-solving and analytical capability
  • A collaborative, adaptable approach with the confidence to shape and lead initiatives end-to-end

Benefits

We offer a range of benefits to help provide holistic support for your work life, whatever your circumstances. As a QBE employee you will have access to and benefit from:

  • 30 days holiday a year with the option to buy up to 2 additional days
  • Pension – you are automatically enrolled into the QBE pension plan, which entitles you to receive employer contributions of 10% of your basic salary
  • Private medical insurance – we fund fully comprehensive private medical cover for you and all the family
  • Short term remote work abroad – you can request up to 20 days per year to work remotely from certain locations abroad
