We’re seeking a Data Onboarding & Cataloguing specialist for the KDB platform to help scale and industrialise how market and reference datasets are ingested, governed, catalogued, and consumed across Barclays. This role sits at the intersection of KDB engineering, market data onboarding, data governance, and platform standardisation, and plays a critical role in reducing time‑to‑market while ensuring strong controls, discoverability, and entitlement‑driven access to KDB datasets across asset classes.

To Be Successful In This Role You Will:

  • Be an experienced front‑office data engineer specialising in the systematic onboarding and cataloguing of trading data at scale.
  • Bring a strong understanding of the practical challenges around metadata, data quality, lineage, ownership, and entitlement alignment in complex trading ecosystems.
  • Have delivered robust, tool‑agnostic solutions that turn fragmented data landscapes into well‑governed, discoverable, and reusable data products across multiple asset classes.

Other skills that would be useful in this role include:

  • Previous experience working with KDB datasets.
  • Financial Services/Investment banking background.
  • Experience collaborating with a wide range of stakeholders, including business, technology, and senior leaders.

Purpose of the role:

To build and maintain the systems that collect, store, process, and analyse data, such as data pipelines, data warehouses and data lakes to ensure that all data is accurate, accessible, and secure.

Accountabilities:

  • Build and maintenance of data architectures pipelines that enable the transfer and processing of durable, complete and consistent data.
  • Design and implementation of data warehouses and data lakes that manage the appropriate data volumes and velocity and adhere to the required security measures.
  • Development of processing and analysis algorithms fit for the intended data complexity and volumes.
  • Collaboration with data scientists to build and deploy machine learning models.

Influence or convince stakeholders to achieve outcomes.
