We’re looking for a Lead Engineer to play a key role in the Networks team at Tesco Bank, part of Barclays Bank UK Plc, focusing on leading the day‑to‑day (BAU) operation of network services, managing the engineering team, and ensuring stability, security, and performance of the network estate.
Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver day‑to‑day network services operations (BAU) and project work.
- Lead the BAU engineering team.
- Ensure stability, security, and performance of the network estate.
- Contribute to network design and improvement initiatives.
- Support the Principal Engineer in driving the overall direction of the Networks function.
- Serve as a critical link between BAU delivery and strategic change.
Qualifications
- Strong experience with Fortinet and CCNP-level knowledge.
- Secure network design & delivery – hands‑on knowledge of network technology stacks (Arista, Zscaler, Palo Alto, Juniper, Versa, BGP).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with experience coaching network engineers.
Highly Valued Skills
- Experience in network automation/scripting and version control.
- Experience in Supplier / MSP management.
- Experience in supporting large‑scale network change delivery.
