Role Overview
As a Security Engineer at Barclays you will spearhead the evolution of our digital landscape, driving innovation and excellence while ensuring unapparelled customer experiences. You will develop, implement and maintain solutions that safeguard Barclays systems and sensitive information.
Key Responsibilities
- Build, deploy and maintain DLP services and policies.
- Drive service-level incidents through to remediation.
- Create and maintain high-quality documentation.
- Engage with stakeholders to prioritize requirements and set expectations.
- Work with other DLP SME’s to ensure adequate service coverage across DLP tooling.
- Evaluate and implement technical changes and project deliverables.
- Engage product vendors where necessary for incident investigation and product enhancements.
- Provide subject matter expertise on security systems and engineering patterns.
- Develop and implement protocols, algorithms, and software applications to protect sensitive data and systems.
- Manage and protect secrets, ensuring secure generation, storage and use.
- Execute audits to monitor, identify and assess vulnerabilities in the bank’s infrastructure and software.
- Support response to potential security breaches.
- Identify advancements to support innovation and adoption of new cryptographic technologies and techniques.
- Collaborate across departments, including developers and security teams, to align cryptographic solutions with business objectives, policies and regulatory requirements.
- Develop, implement and maintain Identity and Access Management solutions and systems.
Qualifications
- Experience with the software security landscape: CVEs, CWEs, common software vulnerability types.
- Experience with SAST, SCA, and DAST, including strengths and weaknesses of each.
- At least one programming language (e.g. Java, Go).
- At least one major cloud provider (e.g. AWS, GCP, Azure).
- REST API design experience.
- HTTP Authentication knowledge.
- Linux at the terminal, including scripting and automation (e.g. shell, Python).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CI/CD.
- Experience with GraphQL.
