Join us as a Business Operations & Engagement Lead within the Technology Chief of Staff Office for Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management (PBWM). This highly visible delivery role is responsible for managing a portfolio of leadership and colleague engagement activity and translating ideas into initiatives that land with clear impact for the intended audience. You will contribute strongly to shaping concepts and narratives, then take end‑to‑end ownership for turning them into practical plans—coordinating stakeholders, sequencing dependencies, and executing flawlessly across forums, town halls, strategic events and internal communications.

To Be Successful In This Role

  • Portfolio planning & operating rhythm: Ability to build and run a forward plan of activity (e.g., leadership forums, town halls, engagement campaigns), maintain a clear view of priorities and critical dates, and keep delivery on track through disciplined cadence and follow‑up.
  • Translating ideas into high‑impact initiatives: Strong capability to take a broad concept and turn it into a clear objective, plan and set of deliverables—defining scope, success measures, roles, and a practical route to execution that delivers value for colleagues and leaders.
  • Stakeholder orchestration & governance: Confident partnering with senior leaders and teams across PBWM Technology—bringing clarity, constructive challenge and sound judgement to align inputs, secure decisions, manage risks/issues, and drive consistent follow‑through.
  • Comms & experience quality (detail that matters): Excellent internal communications and meticulous delivery—briefings, key messages, run‑of‑show, logistics and contingency—ensuring every interaction feels polished, purposeful and aligned to the narrative.

Purpose of the Role

Accountabilities

  • Strategic support to senior executives, such as the CEO or other top‑level leaders; assistance in the development and execution of in‑year and multi‑year business strategy, research, and analysis to support decision‑making.
  • Management of colleague engagement planning in line with the strategic direction, managing communication channels and ensuring effective coordination across different departments and teams.
  • Management of key projects and strategic initiatives on behalf of senior executives, ensuring strategic projects are on track, monitoring progress, and providing regular updates to the executive team.
  • Improvement of operational efficiency alongside functional partners, streamlining processes and implementing best practices to enhance productivity and effectiveness.
  • Development of performance reporting and analysis for key metrics; involvement in financial analysis, budgeting, cost management and monitoring financial performance against targets.
  • Support to senior leadership for resourcing, talent development, succession planning, mentorship and diversity initiatives.
  • Support to senior executive with risk and control oversight, crisis management, contingency plans and business continuity.
  • Implementation of governance framework for board of directors, executive forums and committees, including preparation of board materials and ensuring regulatory compliance.
