Opportunity
We’re looking for an experienced and creative Events Manager to join our Marketing and Communications team on a permanent basis, based in London with a hybrid working model. This is a high‑profile role responsible for delivering a dynamic and impactful programme of customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe. You’ll work closely with senior leaders to design and deliver events that support commercial objectives, strengthen relationships and elevate the QBE brand. From flagship industry conferences and premium corporate hospitality to executive dinners and engagement events, this role offers genuine variety, visibility and the opportunity to make a real impact.
Your new role
As Events Manager, you’ll lead the planning and delivery of QBE’s flagship customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe. Working closely with senior leaders, you’ll turn business objectives into high‑impact experiences that strengthen relationships and elevate the QBE brand. You’ll own the European events calendar end‑to‑end, balancing strategy, creativity and flawless execution. This is a highly visible role within the Marketing team, offering real influence and variety.
Main responsibilities
- Own and deliver QBE’s annual programme of customer, broker, employee and industry events across the UK and Europe.
- Lead end‑to‑end event delivery, from strategy and concept through to on‑site execution.
- Deliver flagship conferences, executive events and premium corporate hospitality experiences.
- Manage exhibition presence at major industry events, including stand design, build and on‑site delivery.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders on event strategy, planning and delivery.
- Manage event budgets, suppliers and contracts to ensure cost‑effective, high‑quality delivery.
- Lead and develop a small, high‑performing events team (two direct reports).
- Ensure all events align with brand guidelines, policies and codes of conduct.
- Measure and report on event impact, using insights to continuously evolve the events programme.

You’re a commercially minded events professional who understands how great events drive relationships, reputation and business outcomes. Confident working with senior leaders, you bring a strategic lens to event planning while maintaining exceptional attention to detail. You thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment and enjoy taking full ownership from concept to delivery. You’re flexible, collaborative and energised by delivering standout experiences.

- Good strategic understanding of how events support brand, engagement and commercial objectives.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience working closely with senior executives.
- People management experience, with the ability to lead and develop a small team.
- Strong brand awareness and confidence working within brand guidelines.
- Outstanding attention to detail, planning and organisational skills.
- Experience managing budgets, suppliers, agencies and sponsorship agreements.
- Flexibility to support events that may involve occasional late evenings or travel.
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders and marketing colleagues.
