When you join us as a Finance Analyst – Expansion Programme, Corporate Finance, you’ll take on a role central to our success. As part of a Treasury team that manages a significant debt and derivative portfolio, you will soon see the scale and complexity of our financing operation, and how that creates incredibly interesting and challenging work. We are looking for a Corporate Finance Analyst who will report to the Finance Manager, Corporate Finance Expansion Programme and support the Head of Finance, Corporate Finance & Treasury Risk.
The Analyst will support a wide range of treasury activities, with a primary focus on corporate finance and financial modelling, particularly in respect of long‑term financial planning of the Expansion Programme. This is an excellent opportunity for a proactive individual with rigorous analytical capability, intellectual curiosity, and strong organisational skills to deliver high quality output on time.
Responsibilities- Maintaining and updating Corporate Finance models to ensure underlying inputs and assumptions are up to date and outputs are accurate.
- Working closely with the wider planning and forecasting team in the setting of the management and regulatory business plans. This involves formulating the financing elements of the plan such that the balance sheet is well managed and optimised in terms of liquidity, covenants and credit metrics.
- Assisting with the review and update of Treasury policies to ensure that they reflect Heathrow’s risk appetite.
- Supporting the relationship with credit rating agencies by responding to requests for information, involvement in periodic rating reviews, and continuous monitoring of rating agency metrics.
- Modelling to support Heathrow’s external reporting in respect of valuation and impairment, and going concern modelling and sensitivity analysis, interacting with Heathrow’s external auditors as required.
- Providing effective communication (both written and oral) of complex financial information to internal and external stakeholders. This includes preparation of Board materials and responding to modelling questions from shareholders and auditors.
- High level of proficiency in financial modelling using Microsoft Excel.
- Experienced at data analysis and problem‑solving.
- High level of financial literacy: strong financial analysis skills and the ability to read, analyse and interpret complex financial data.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Good understanding of effective controls and governance over financial models.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills at all levels.
