Join us as an API Analyst within Barclays UK, where you will collaborate with business areas and engineers to support technological changes, design and build APIs, and engage third parties to deliver enhanced services. You will also oversee API unit testing, manage defects, and identify business requirements and solutions that support the organisation in achieving its strategic objectives.
Qualifications
- Strong BA experience within API/integration domains, with an understanding of RESTful APIs and their role in digital/customer journeys at a technical level.
- Proven ability to read and translate Open API/Swagger Specs and UCRs to define and document API requirements (user stories, acceptance criteria, data models).
- Experience delivering API/integration change across the full lifecycle, working with engineering, architecture, and 3rd parties.
Additional Highly Valued Skills
- Ability to problem solve and triage API defects and incidents.
- Experience in both the analysis of request/response messages and the front-end utilisation of data by the API consumer.
- Experience in a regulated financial services environment, with awareness of security and data considerations.

- Identification and analysis of business problems and client requirements that require change within the organisation.
- Development of business requirements that will address business problems and opportunities.
- Collaboration with stakeholders to ensure that proposed solutions meet their needs and expectations.
- Support the creation of business cases that justify investment in proposed solutions.
- Conduct feasibility studies to determine the viability of proposed solutions.
- Support the creation of reports on project progress to ensure proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
- Creation of operational design and process design to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered within the agreed scope.
- Support to change management activities, including development of a traceability matrix to ensure proposed solutions are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
