Limehurst Academy is looking to fill the position of English Teacher (GCSE & Form Tutor). The successful candidate will teach GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature to the full age and ability range and will also serve as a form tutor within a skilled eight‑person English department.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, standards‑aligned lessons for GCSE English Language and GCSE English Literature.
  • Plan and assess student progress, ensuring all pupils reach their full potential.
  • Act as a form tutor, supporting pastoral care and promoting positive behaviour.
  • Collaborate with senior staff to develop curriculum, share best practice and uphold school’s high standards.
  • Use time‑management skills and excellent interpersonal communication to maintain a productive classroom environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Qualified teacher with a relevant teaching qualification (PGCE or equivalent).
  • Experience teaching English at the secondary or college level, preferably with GCSE experience.
  • Strong organisational skills and a good work ethic.
  • Full enhanced DBS check and eligibility to work in the UK.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
