Key Duties
- Conduct on-site inspections of residential properties (houses, flats, new builds,
existing dwellings) - Measure property dimensions and assess construction materials
- Record details of insulation, heating systems, ventilation, and lighting
- Produce accurate Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) using accredited
software - Ensure compliance with UK government legislation and accreditation body
standards - Upload EPCs to the national register within required timeframes
- Advise property owners, landlords, and estate agents on improving energy
efficiency - Maintain accurate records and documentation of assessments
Required Qualifications & Certification (UK)
- Level 3 Diploma for Domestic Energy Assessors (or equivalent qualification)
- Membership with an approved accreditation scheme (e.g. Elmhurst, Stroma,
ECMK) - Valid insurance (Professional Indemnity & Public Liability)
- DBS check (may be required depending on employer)
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Good understanding of building construction and energy systems
- Proficiency with DEA software and digital tools
- Excellent organisational and time-management skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Ability to work independently and manage workload
