We are currently looking for a Seasonal Maintenance Handyman to join our maintenance team at the award-winning Lime Wood Hotel. Lime Wood is a 33-bedroom boutique country house set in the heart of the New Forest National Park. It is laid-back 5* luxury at its best, with Chefs Angela Hartnett and Luke Holder at the helm of the kitchen and a wellness spa within the grounds.

About the role:

As a Maintenance Handyman, you will work as part of a small team, assisting with painting and decorating, odd jobs, and carrying out general repairs throughout the hotel and spa. The ability to manage preventative maintenance is key.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Working as part of a small team carrying out tasks assigned by our Maintenance Manager.
  • Carrying out maintenance to the highest standards, in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Working harmoniously with all departments, especially our housekeeping team regarding all required maintenance.
  • Getting hands-on with the day-to-day duties, from lightbulb changes to entire room renovations.
  • Working in a manner which avoids obstructions, taking into consideration our guests and noise levels.
  • Ensuring all workspaces are left clean and tidy with safety notices in place where applicable.
  • Compliant handling of tools and equipment, ensuring health and safety measures are met.
  • Handling equipment with care, ensuring safe storage of all machinery.
  • Interacting with guests as/when required.
  • Having passion and determination to upskill.
  • Always having the willingness to learn.

About you:

Previous experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential as full training will be provided. An eagerness to learn new skills is essential. Any qualifications or exposure to the following is beneficial: PAT testing, electrics, plumbing, fire safety, carpentry, plant room management, health, and safety. A ‘can do’ hands-on attitude is a must as our hotels are open 365 days a year. We are ideally seeking a candidate who is naturally considerate in their approach to all responsibilities and takes pride in a job well done.
