We are partnering with a leading UK FMCG manufacturer to recruit a Manufacturing Front Line Manager for a fast-paced, high-performing production environment. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious people leader who thrives in manufacturing operations and is passionate about safety, continuous improvement and driving team performance. This role has been designed as a stepping stone to Plant Manager, we are looking for someone who is actively looking to progress to senior leadership over the next couple of years.
The Role
As Manufacturing Shift Manager, you will lead, coach and develop operational teams to deliver against key targets across safety, quality, service and cost. You will play a pivotal role in creating a positive, high-performance culture while driving operational excellence across the site.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading a strong Safety First culture across production operations
- Driving team performance and accountability
- Coaching and developing operational teams
- Ensuring high product quality and operational efficiency
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Collaborating cross-functionally to optimise manufacturing performance
What We’re Looking For
- Minimum 3 years’ experience within an FMCG manufacturing environment
- Proven experience leading teams within production/manufacturing
- Strong people management and performance improvement skills
- Passion for coaching, development and continuous improvement
- Manufacturing-related degree advantageous but not essential
Shift Pattern (4 Week Rotation)
- Week 1: Mon–Thurs: Nights, Fri–Sun: Off
- Week 2: Mon–Wed: Days, Thurs: Off, Fri–Sat: Nights, Sun: Off
- Week 3: Sun: Nights, Mon–Wed: Off, Thurs–Sat: Days
- Week 4: Sunday: Days, Mon–Sat: Off
This averages out across a structured continental-style shift rotation with a strong work/life balance built into the pattern.
