We’re partnered with a leading global consumer goods business to find a commercially driven Grocery Controller to lead a team and drive growth for one of the Top UK Grocery Retailers. This is a high-profile role with full ownership of a circa £100m + P&L, responsibility for developing Joint Business Plans, and leading a multi-functional team. You’ll be shaping strategy across grocery and e-commerce, delivering sustainable growth in both established and emerging categories.
The Role
- Lead customer strategy and relationships across the grocery channel, developing long-term profitable partnerships.
- Take full P&L ownership, delivering sales, profit and cash targets.
- Build and implement Joint Business Plans, driving category growth and brand visibility.
- Identify new profit pools and address areas of under-trade.
- Manage and develop a small team, coaching them to unlock engagement and deliver best-in-class account management.
- Play a key role within the UK Sales Leadership Team, contributing to broader commercial strategy and capability building.
The Ideal candidate
- Significant FMCG commercial experience, with proven success managing at least 1 (or more) of the top 4 grocery accounts at Senior National Account Manager or Business Manager level.
- Strong financial and commercial acumen, with a deep understanding of trade terms, pricing dynamics and mix management.
- A natural relationship-builder who can influence at all levels, internally and externally.
- Skilled in forecasting, planning and delivering JBP negotiations.
- Inspirational leader with a passion for coaching and developing teams.
- Experience working cross-functionally (Category, RGM, Trade Marketing).
