The Role: This Sales Finance Manager role sits at the interface of Finance and Sales, working closely with commercial partners in a high‑impact, fast‑paced environment. Reporting into a Senior Account Lead within a major retail channel, the role offers significant exposure to senior stakeholders and cross‑functional teams. Core responsibilities include planning and forecasting, analysing key commercial and financial drivers, assessing financial viability, and supporting the development and execution of promotional plans and annual operating plans within a key customer account. Acting as the financial lead for a customer group, you will take ownership of end‑to‑end P&L performance, providing both strategic insight and operational support to the retail sales team to drive sustainable and profitable growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own all financial analysis and reporting for a key customer account, including financial modelling, promotional evaluation, scenario planning, variance analysis against forecast, and support in delivering a structured joint business plan.
- Proactively identify opportunities to improve customer financial performance, including optimisation of price, mix and overall profitability.
- Partner with National Account Managers and Account Directors to develop, challenge and validate sales forecasts, highlighting key risks and opportunities.
- Drive financial understanding and accountability within the customer team, ensuring strong awareness of key metrics, systems and performance drivers.
- Oversee and support an operational team responsible for promotional invoicing, accrual management, deductions tracking and day‑to‑day sales support activities.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement and standardisation of financial processes across Sales and Finance teams within the UK business.
What We Need:
- Strong commercial competence with a focus on driving excellent financial and commercial performance; prior experience in Finance preferred.
- Ideally experience working with UK retailers.
- Solid skills in accessing and using analytical tools, experience in SAP a benefit.
- Bachelor’s degree, MBA or equivalent is desirable.
