We are currently looking for a Senior Product Developer to join an innovative and high growth food business, based in Central London. As Senior Product Developer, you’ll be a key driver of innovation, leading projects from concept to shelf. You’ll own the development pipeline — turning insight, trends, and data into crave-worthy, commercially successful products that consumers love. You’ll work closely with cross-functional teams in Marketing, Operations, and Supply Chain, as well as with co-manufacturers and international partners to deliver category-leading NPD.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new products from idea to launch, ensuring they meet brand, quality, and commercial objectives.
- Keep your finger on the pulse of food trends, ingredients, and technologies — and bring them to life in breakthrough innovations.
- Manage and mentor junior developers, fostering a culture of creativity and excellence.
- Collaborate with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers to ensure feasibility, scalability, and compliance.
- Partner with Marketing and Insights teams to translate consumer data into tangible NPD opportunities.
- Drive continuous improvement of existing SKUs through recipe optimization, reformulation, and cost efficiency.
- Ensure all products meet nutritional, sensory, and regulatory standards.
About You
- Degree in Food Science, Food Technology, or related field.
- Experience in food product development, ideally within branded FMCG or challenger brands.
- Proven track record launching products into major UK retailers (Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Waitrose, etc.).
- Creative yet commercially minded — you balance blue-sky thinking with disciplined delivery.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Strong project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Passionate about great food, sustainability, and pushing boundaries.
