Our client is an exciting health drinks company with 5 times revenue growth projected in the coming years who are now looking to expand their commercial team, bringing on board a Business Development Manager to help shape the future of their sales function and directly influence strategy.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and secure new business opportunities with major national partners to drive company growth.
- Lead negotiations with key accounts, establishing long-term, mutually beneficial agreements.
- Collaborate with marketing to design tailored initiatives that align with each account’s customer base.
- Act as the main contact for national clients, maintaining strong relationships with senior decision-makers.
- Manage a diverse account portfolio across Grocery, Retail, Convenience, and OOH channels, including Booths, GAIL’s, Nando’s, Stores Supply, Mr Lemonade, Abel & Cole, Brakes, DDC, BP, and others.
- Develop and implement account strategies to achieve sales targets and strengthen brand visibility.
- Conduct regular reviews to assess performance, identify opportunities, and address challenges.
- Oversee pricing, promotions, and trade budgets to ensure sustainable and profitable growth.
- Analyse sales data and market trends to inform decisions and refine strategies.
- Provide detailed performance reports, forecasts, and growth insights to the founder.
- Coordinate with operations to ensure smooth and timely product delivery.
- Partner with finance to monitor profitability and maintain alignment with company goals.
- Recruit, mentor, and lead a Sales Executive to support business expansion objectives.
Qualifications:
- Over four years of experience in FMCG sales.
- Excellent skills in negotiation, communication, and relationship building.
- Proficient at interpreting data, spotting trends, and providing actionable insights.
- Highly self-driven, goal-oriented, and able to perform effectively in a fast-moving environment.
- Meticulous and detail-conscious in all tasks.
- Enthusiastic about the Food & Beverage sector, with a strong interest in Health & Wellness.
- Energetic and proactive, with a “get it done” mindset.
