We’re currently working with an exciting drinks brand recruiting for a Supply Chain Manager to take full ownership of logistics operations across the UK market. This position is central to ensuring products move efficiently from warehouse to retailer, meeting all delivery expectations and compliance standards. The role plays a key part in translating commercial success into operational execution—ensuring that once products are listed, everything behind the scenes runs seamlessly. It requires a practical, detail-oriented approach combined with the ability to think strategically and drive improvements across the supply chain.
Core Responsibilities
- End-to-End Logistics Management: Take responsibility for the full B2B logistics cycle, from initial setup through to final delivery and performance monitoring. Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered in line with retailer requirements.
- Retail Standards & Delivery Performance: Maintain strong delivery performance by meeting agreed service levels and ensuring all retailer-specific requirements are consistently followed, including routing, labelling, booking processes, and advance shipment notifications.
- Third-Party Logistics Oversight: Oversee relationships with external warehouse and logistics partners in both the UK and US. Monitor performance, resolve issues, and lead regular reviews to drive accountability and continuous improvement.
- Reporting & Operational Insights: Track key performance indicators such as delivery timelines, service levels, and penalties. Develop clear reporting tools and provide insights that support better decision-making across teams.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Partner closely with commercial, inventory, and marketing functions to support product launches, promotions, and forecasting. Ensure logistics planning aligns with wider business objectives.
- Onboarding & Systems Setup: Manage the operational setup for new retail partners, product lines, and distribution routes. This includes coordinating system integrations such as EDI and ensuring all processes are ready for smooth execution.
- Hands-On Operational Support: Stay close to day-to-day operations when needed, assisting with order flow, tracking shipments, and resolving queries. Handle issues such as delays, shortages, or damaged goods efficiently.
- Process Improvement: Continuously identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce errors, and improve overall supply chain performance by working collaboratively with both internal teams and external partners.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in B2B logistics within an FMCG environment (beverages experience is advantageous)
- Strong familiarity with UK retail operations and requirements
