We’re working with a high-growth retail & hospitality business operating multiple sites across the UK. They are seeking a commercially astute and strategically minded Head of Strategy & Insights to lead high-impact, cross‑functional initiatives that underpin long‑term growth and customer experience.
This is a pivotal senior leadership role operating at the intersection of strategy and execution — working closely with the executive team to define business direction, turn strategy into actionable programmes, and drive disciplined delivery across digital, real estate and data transformation initiatives.
Priorities of this role include:
- Lead the development and evolution of the company’s strategic roadmap aligned to commercial and customer objectives
- Partner with senior leadership to prioritise growth initiatives, capital investments and transformation programmes
- Own and lead a portfolio of strategic programmes including digital platform evolution, venue refurbishments and data transformation initiatives
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams across marketing, technology, operations, finance and property
- Act as a trusted advisor to the executive team, presenting strategic plans, risks and performance updates
- Establish governance, performance tracking and ROI measurement across all strategic initiatives
Key attributes that we are looking for:
- Significant experience leading strategic programmes and complex cross‑functional initiatives
- A proven track record of translating business strategy into executable, measurable initiatives
- Strong commercial acumen and the ability to interpret data to generate actionable insights
- Advanced stakeholder management and influencing capability at senior leadership level
- Excellent programme management discipline across governance, risk and resource planning
- The ability to operate strategically while remaining hands‑on in delivery
- Exceptional communication, facilitation and presentation skills
Highly advantageous:
- Experience within retail, leisure, hospitality or multi‑site consumer‑facing businesses
- Exposure to digital product platforms, e‑commerce ecosystems or customer experience transformation
- Experience delivering refurbishment or real estate transformation programmes
- Knowledge of data, analytics, BI or customer data platforms
This is a senior individual contributor role that requires someone who is both strategic and hands‑on, comfortable operating in the detail while influencing and aligning senior stakeholders across the business. You’ll bring strong customer insights experience, paired with structured, highly organised programme management skills, and the credibility to drive alignment at executive level while personally ensuring delivery stays on track. If you’re motivated by owning both the thinking and the execution, and have the gravitas to align senior leaders around a clear direction, this could represent a compelling next step.
