Overview
Hollyoaks is fast approaching its 30th birthday, what a milestone! Over the past 30 years we have focused on hard-hitting, issue-led storytelling and big and bold block-buster plots. The show isn’t afraid to tackle taboo subjects. Hollyoaks is daring, exciting and imaginative and we are currently on the hunt for individuals who share those exact qualities. Our Story team is expanding, and we have the following exciting opportunities available in Liverpool:
Responsibilities
- STORY EDITOR – Reporting into the Story Producer, the Story Editor will help guide story discussions and take responsibility for editing the storyline documents.
- STORYLINER/JUNIOR STORYLINER – Working in a team to contribute ideas and draft storylines for each month of episodes.
Qualifications and attributes
We are looking for candidates with a proven background in drama or journalism. You will need to have excellent writing skills, be bursting with new and original ideas and have the passion and confidence to voice these to the wider team. Embracing the vision of the Exec Producer is key, as well as adhering to the show’s production guidelines, so being able to adapt and find creative solutions quickly is a crucial part of the job. We want people who will inspire and encourage their fellow team members and champion their ideas and views. To be successful in our Story team, you will need to keep abreast of youth culture, maintain an awareness of current cultural issues and most importantly, LOVE telling stories!
