Our Story team is expanding, and we are looking for candidates with proven experience in drama or journalism to join us in Liverpool. You will share and support the Executive Producer's creative vision while working within the show's editorial and production guidelines. Our team is collaborative, creative, and empowering. STORY EDITOR
As a senior member of the Story team, you will report to and work closely with the Story Producer, actively contributing to story conferences, helping shape editorial discussions, and taking ownership of the storyline documents. You will lead the development, editing, and delivery of these documents throughout every stage of the process, working under the guidance of the Story Producer and in line with the Executive Producer’s creative vision.
The Story Editor role at Hollyoaks requires exceptional creativity, proofreading and grammar skills, and meticulous attention to detail. You will be a confident communicator with the ability to generate innovative ideas and practical solutions while consistently meeting structured deadlines. We are looking for someone with strong experience in plotting for continuing drama or television series, alongside the ability to liaise with writers and build strong working relationships across the editorial and production teams.
STORYLINER
Reporting to and supported by the Story Producer, you will work closely with the Story team to generate ideas and develop storylines across each month's episodes. With a strong understanding of story structure and the Hollyoaks brand, you will play a central role in shaping story.
You will attend and actively contribute to story conferences, so we're looking for a confident, storyteller who thrives in a creative environment, brings original ideas, and enjoys solving story challenges while plotting engaging drama. You'll have excellent proofreading and grammar skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to build positive working relationships with writers, the wider editorial team, and production.
