A privately owned, ultra-luxury country retreat is looking for a Senior General Manager to lead its next chapter.
Intimate in scale and exceptional in standard, the estate combines refined accommodation, destination dining rooted in its own land, and a dedicated wellness offering, all set in some of England’s most beautiful countryside. Guests come from around the world and expect the extraordinary.
This is a rare chance to shape a property that is still writing its story, working closely with owners who have deep roots in luxury hospitality.
The role
- Lead guest experience, rooms, food and beverage, wellness and events
- Hold full P&L responsibility, including budgeting, forecasting and commercial growth
- Build, develop and lead a strong head of department team
- Work alongside the estate, gardens and land teams so that every stay connects guests with the place
- Report directly to the owners, acting as their trusted partner in delivering the vision
- Look after UHNW and international guests with warmth, discretion and personal attention
- Raise the estate’s profile with international luxury travel partners
About you
- An established General Manager or a proven senior operator from luxury hotels, country estates or resorts
- Modern in your thinking: you value personal, storytelling service over stiff formality
- Experienced in working with private owners and senior stakeholders, with the judgement and diplomacy that requires
- Commercially sharp, with a track record of improving performance without compromising standards
- A natural team builder who holds people accountable and develops talent
- Passionate about seasonal food, the outdoors and creating a genuine sense of place
- Ideally experienced in openings, repositioning or bringing a young property to maturity
- Willing to live in or relocate to a rural location
