Overview of the role:
We're Expanding! Lime Academy Hornbeam is Recruiting for a Medical Welfare Officer. Lime Academy Hornbeam is growing, and we are excited to be working closely with the Local Authority to create additional specialist places for children and young people with complex needs. As part of this exciting expansion, we are looking to recruit passionate, dedicated Medical Welfare Officers to join our team.
We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who can:
- Provide medical care and support to all pupils along with administrative duties associated with the post
- Administer routine drugs to all pupils where and when required
- Liaise with medical teams outside school to ensure all medication processes are up to date and safe for each child
- Attend medical reviews, annual reviews and medical meetings for pupils
- Look after and support the health and wellbeing of all pupils
- Work under the direction of SLT
- Manage the safe and effective administration, storage of medical supplies and pupil medication
- Ensure that safe and effective protocols are followed throughout the school for moving and handling, feeding of students, first aid, seizures
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Strong communication skills
- Experience of working with children with SEND is desirable
- Practical experience of using ICT systems
- A commitment to the vision and values of the Trust, alongside a collaborative and effective partnership working style
You will be a highly motivated practitioner who is committed to implementing significant and sustained improvements across the schools and the wider Trust, who is enthusiastic to see all our learners flourish in safe, secure and welcoming learning environments.
This role will be based at our Brookfield House Campus, Alders Avenue, Woodford Green IG8 9PY.
