Reporting Line – Head of Product, Lily’s Kitchen (with functional dotted line report to Regulatory & Scientific Affairs Manager, Zone Europe at Nestle Purina)

Location: This is a hybrid role, with a mix between working approximately 1-2 days a week in our beautiful central London office (Goodge Street) and working from home.

Your place at the Lily’s Kitchen Table: You will be part of a team that is at the forefront of innovation, reporting into the Head of Product. As an RSA Specialist, you will ensure the delivery of compliant labelling and brand/product related communications, enabling project success through effective collaboration and guidance to the product, marketing and e-commerce teams.

How will I make a difference?

  • Be responsible for all Lily’s Kitchen on and off pack claims – with translation approval from local RSA in markets.
  • Work within the product team on all renovation projects and new NPD.
  • Ensure that product claims are substantiated, regulatory compliant and all labels meet EU Regulations, industry codes/guidelines and Nestlé/Nestlé PURINA Standards.
  • Provide, with appropriate support, risk assessments and solutions for product labelling and regulatory issues.
  • Own the master claims process and ensure all claims are checked, documented and approved in a timely manner.
  • Own and maintain LK documentation such as master claims, policies, procedures, standards and substantiation.
  • Sign off copy sheets.
  • Ensure all Lily’s Kitchen on pack claims are uploaded on the master Purina Claims database.
  • Be the direct contact for central Purina RSA teams and local markets for Lily’s Kitchen.
  • Own the process of signing off translations through local market RSA.
  • Sign off final packaging through LK proofing system on behalf of all Purina Europe RSA.
  • Create a claims tool kit for all off pack claims which will then be translated for use across markets.
  • Own the sign off process for all off pack approvals.
  • Attend weekly, monthly and quarterly Central RSA meetings and report back to the Product Team as required.
  • Report and elevate any issue/relevant change noticed during the meetings to the Purina RSA manager and relevant internal stakeholders for decision.
  • Own the relationship with each local RSA, setting up a regular forum for discussions/queries.
  • Be the Lily’s Kitchen representative for local trade bodies (to be determined).
  • Take into consideration our social and environmental goals within every aspect of the role, e.g., sustainable sourcing, recyclability.

Knowledge

  • Know and able to find the key Regulatory texts (labelling, animal by products, additives, feed hygiene, etc.) and FEDIAF codes (labelling, safety, nutritional guidelines).
  • Able to explain to others on core regulatory information.
  • Represent Lily’s Kitchen at relevant Trade Associations in dedicated working groups.
  • Ensure any changes/updates to regulation is reported back to the Lily’s Kitchen team.
  • When the above refers to changes to the product or packaging, work with the NPD team on a process to implement the changes within the required time frame.

Regulatory challenges

  • First point of contact for any Lily’s Kitchen regulatory challenge.
  • Work directly with LK Product Heads and Central RSA to resolve as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  • Propose and implement validated action plans in response to regulatory changes.
  • Communicate action plan/output to local RSA teams as relevant.

  • You’ll have a wealth of knowledge in regulatory compliance, EU Regulations, industry codes/guidelines.
  • Fantastic planning, organisation skills and detail oriented.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with deadlines and pressure.
  • First class communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively and appropriately with other Lily’s Kitchen employees, RSA colleagues and others at all levels.
  • Ability to manage others to timelines to ensure project run on time.
