We are currently looking for experienced Kurdish Sorani linguists to join our Theology Talent Community. We prioritize linguists with expertise in areas such as biblical studies, liturgy, homiletics, and denominational documentation, where accuracy and fidelity to theological meaning are essential.

What You’ll Deliver

  • Theological Translation: Translate Christian theological content — including sermons, Scripture commentaries, catechetical materials, liturgical texts, and devotional resources — between English and your native language with a high degree of accuracy and doctrinal consistency.
  • Denominational & Cultural Alignment: Ensure translations reflect market-specific ecclesiastical traditions, theological terminology, and formatting conventions appropriate to the target faith community.
  • Quality & Doctrinal Awareness: Apply rigorous quality standards to deliver precise, faithful content where theological accuracy and sensitivity to scriptural intent are critical.
  • Subtitling & Localization: Adapt sermons, Christian media, and ministry video content for multilingual audiences through accurate subtitling and culturally appropriate localization.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with production and quality teams to meet client requirements and deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Native-level proficiency in the target language(s).
  • A graduate qualification in translation, linguistics, or language studies, OR a graduate qualification in another field plus 2 years of full-time professional translation experience, OR 5 years of full-time professional translation experience.
  • The ability to follow terminology and reference materials precisely.
  • Proven professional experience in translation, localization, or subtitling within the theological or religious domain.

What to Consider Before Applying

  • Not ideal as a full-time job or primary income source. Work availability fluctuates with project demand, making this better suited as a supplemental income stream.
  • As a 1099 contractor, you won't receive benefits such as health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions, and hours are not guaranteed.
  • Requires reliable availability and commitment. Once you accept a task, we expect quality work and on-time delivery. Most tasks require a minimum of 2 hours per day or 10 hours per week.
  • If your schedule is unpredictable, this may not be the right fit.
  • Geographic restrictions may apply. We cannot engage contractors in regions subject to international embargoes or sanctions.
  • As a 1099 contractor, you are solely responsible for your own tax obligations. We recommend consulting a tax professional before engaging.
