Reports to: Shift Supervisor / Production Manager

Based: HQ in Huntingdon

Hours: Various shift patterns depending on demand, examples below:

Holiday: 26 Days paid annual leave plus bank holidays

Term: Permanent contract (standard UK '6-month probation' applies).

Basic Salary: £13.45 per hour

Job Purpose: Sorting, inspecting, packing of cardboard envelopes, boxes & flat packed cardboard.

Primary target: Maintain high product quality following pallet layouts and job bags.

Company Overview:

Still 100% owned by the Lill family Est 1983, the company invented the packaging Amazon uses today and is proudly Europe’s largest independent producer of postal packaging, on a mission to eradicate plastics from ecommerce. Lil employs 80 operating from its Huntingdon manufacturing HQ (77,000 sqft) generating in excess of £18m Turnover and growing.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Inspecting: Print/Colour, Crease/Fold, Gluing/Flap, Glue Lines (straight/correct).
  • Packing: Qty per box, how stacked, count markers in batches.
  • Quality: 15 min checks alongside the Minder/ Check Glue / Fit of item contents.

General Information:

  • Explanation of the different types of cartons / wallets / envelopes
  • Explanation of different types of seals
  • Procedure if problem discovered
  • Common Problems

Other Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • Maintains a clean and safe working environment (5S) in the process area
  • Is highly flexible to cover other machines and learn new processes
  • Actively participates with all team members
