The Role
As a Legionella Consultant at Ligtas, you will play a critical role in helping organisations manage and mitigate the risks associated with Legionella bacteria. You will conduct a wide range of water hygiene and Legionella-related services, provide expert advice to clients, and ensure all assessments and reports meet the highest standards. You will work closely with clients across a variety of sectors, with support from a friendly, expert team, and the flexibility to manage your own schedule. Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out water hygiene monitoring including temperature checks, inspections, and sampling.
- Provide technical consultancy and advice to clients and colleagues.
- Deliver accurate, high-quality documents and risk assessments.
- Liaise with clients to explain findings, present recommendations, and ensure follow-through on actions.
- Stay up to date with legislative changes and best practice guidance.
- Maintain accurate records and input relevant data into our digital systems.
- Promote Ligtas services and identify new opportunities during client engagement.
- Support junior colleagues and share knowledge to strengthen internal capability.
- Maintain high levels of professional integrity, discretion, and customer service.
- Travel to client sites regularly, with some overnight stays as required.

Competency Requirements:
Essential:
- City & Guilds / WMSoc / equivalent qualification in Legionella risk assessment (minimum).
- Demonstrable experience conducting Legionella risk assessments and water hygiene services in a variety of environments.
- Excellent understanding of ACOP L8, HSG274, and associated legislation.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong IT literacy – confident with digital tools and reporting systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Training and webinars.
