Role Description
To undertake fire door inspections and fire compartmentation surveys across a variety
of property types to the full range of Ligtas’ clients. The post holder will be client-focused, optimising performance to achieve the best results.
Key Tasks
• Carry out fire door inspections and have completed reports/documentation returned to the office for processing accurately and on time.
- Carry out passive fire protection surveys and have completed reports/documentation returned to the office for processing accurately and on time.
- To produce detailed reports of inspection and survey findings, defects, and recommended remedial work.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate survey reports to customers, both written and verbally
- Where required, produce, update, or annotate plans to accompany reports using appropriate software.
- Ensure the jobs are delivered on time and within budget.
- To keep up to date with legal and technical developments in the areas falling within the post holder’s scope of professional expertise and knowledge.
- To complete all works in line with company policies, procedures, and contractual requirements.
- To complete all work within required timescales and contractual KPIs.
- To be alert to health and safety hazards at work and take all necessary steps to control risks to the post holder and others.
- To attend and participate in company meetings, briefings and CPD sessions as required.
- To be alert to business opportunities and promote the services of the company.
Core Competencies
- Experience in delivering fire doors, passive fire protection and compartmentation surveys
- IT literate.
- Experience in a relevant building or construction trade.
- An organised and planned approach to work, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Ability to work on own initiative; the role being field based.
- Willingness to travel, including overnight stays.
Education
- Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) or equivalent training and/or experience.
- Association for Specialist Fire Protection (ASFP) Level 3 certificate in passive fire protection or equivalent training and/or experience (desirable).
- Approved FDIS Inspector (FDIS Competent Person Certification Scheme).
- BRE Fire Door Inspection.
- Membership of the National Association of Fire Door Inspectors (NAFDI).
