What the Role Entails

We are looking for a passionate and detail-oriented English Localization Specialist to join our game localization team. In this role, you will own translation, voiceover and cultural adaptation of Chinese game content into polished English for global players.

Responsibilities

  • Translation & Editing Support: Assist in translating and reviewing in‑game text, scripts, UI, and marketing materials from Chinese to English. Ensure translations retain intended meaning, tone, and player experience. Help apply localization style guides and quality standards. Support proofreading, terminology consistency checks, and content polishing. Use CAT tools or AI‑assisted localization tools (training provided) to support workflow efficiency.
  • Cultural Adaptation: Identify cultural nuances and sensitivities for Western markets. Provide suggestions to improve clarity, tone, and overall player resonance.
  • LQA and Voiceover: Participate in the game LQA to guarantee the final delivery quality of localization games. Support casting, recording supervision and quality validation for in‑game English voiceover or marketing audios.
  • Cross‑Team Collaboration: Work with developers, producers, and publishing teams to clarify context and localization requirements. Assist senior linguists and producers in maintaining high‑quality localization output.
  • Learning & Growth: Participate in structured training on localization workflows, AI tools, and game content production. Build skills in areas such as linguistic QA, dubbing coordination, and competitor analysis.

Qualifications

  • English proficiency (native speaker level) with strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Conversational and writing Mandarin is a strong advantage (for reading source text and communicating with China‑based teams).
  • Strong passion for gaming and interest in storytelling, narrative design, and global player experience.
  • Detail‑oriented, responsible, and proactive.
  • Good communication skills and willingness to learn in a fast‑paced production environment.
