You will support R&D projects focused on photovoltaic module performance and innovative technologies. You will analyse PV module field testing data, support on-site implementation of further tests, and evaluate the use of PV modules as light and temperature sensors. Your work will inform Lightsource bp's technology strategy.
Responsibilities
- Assist management for R&D projects
- Analyse performance data from field‑tested PV modules and provide technical recommendations for ongoing testing phases
- Model performance versus reality for the use of PV modules as light and temperature sensors
- Communicate and participate in meetings with project stakeholders
- Support standardisation of engineering requirements to be included within the Lightsource bp portfolio
- Conduct engineering analysis of new technologies
- Provide feedback to line manager and the team
- Deliver clear results, insights, and guidelines to the wider engineering team
Experience & Knowledge Required
- Knowledge or experience of renewable energy, solar PV, BESS or Wind
- Basic understanding of the main factors affecting solar PV site performance
- Research experience (from bachelor’s or master’s degree preferred)

- Problem solving and analytical skills
- Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Data analysis software (Excel, Python, PowerBI, R, etc.)
- PV*Syst knowledge is a bonus

Education Required
- Working towards or holding a degree in physics or engineering (electrical/renewable energy preferred)
