Lightsource bp is an international leader in onshore renewables, expanding solar, BESS, and wind projects across EMEA. The role supports commercial marketing and communications activities that build awareness and support the company’s development agenda.
What you’ll do (the role)
Across EMEA you will support the development of marketing and communication strategies, contribute to specific country markets and business units, and shape initiatives that elevate the brand and strengthen stakeholder relationships.
Key accountabilities include:
- Commercial Marketing & Communications Market Strategies: Partner with Commercial Marketing Regional Managers and the GACMCE team to support our development targets by growing brand awareness through engaging, informative and authentic marketing and communication strategies.
- Collaborate with the GACMCE team to support senior stakeholders, including bp, to ensure consistent delivery on messaging, stakeholder engagement, and maximising channel output.
- Co‑ordinate with external agencies—press, digital, events, design—to empower campaign delivery and execution.
- Manage and monitor Lightsource bp EMEA’s external social media channels.
- Monitor and facilitate responses for Lightsource bp EMEA’s press email address.
- Facilitate and manage events where required.
Digital marketing and visual asset management:
- Work with the EMEA Digital Marketing and Web Manager to support and maintain engaging content on EMEA regional websites.
- Support the development and execution of bespoke digital marketing campaigns.
- Oversee reporting on key metrics and KPIs for paid campaigns.
- Set up, manage and curate Lightsource bp’s EMEA digital asset libraries.
- Support Commercial Marketing Regional leads in curating visual content—photography and video.
Internal and corporate communications support:
- Partner with Lightsource bp’s corporate communications team to develop engaging internal communications for the EMEA region.
- Own the EMEA Communications Hub on SharePoint and progress its evolution.
- Own and manage the EMEA internal events calendar.
- Support the development and execution of bespoke digital marketing campaigns.
Drive best practice and efficiencies for the GACMCE function:
- Support team requirements on insights and research projects.
- Prepare briefing documents and presentations for wider group projects.
- Provide basic graphic‑design support for external campaigns.
- Maintain and report on budgets where required.
- Write and contribute towards content marketing strategies for wider functional projects.
Experience & Knowledge Required:
- Demonstrable experience in Marketing, Communications or a similar field.
- Experience writing copy and content across a wide range of collateral.
- Experience developing and executing marketing campaigns, including SEO, digital advertising and social media marketing.
- Good understanding of the solar/low‑carbon energy industry.
- Skilled and sophisticated writer.
- Experience executing internal and external communication strategies.
- Authentic presentation and communication skills.
- Collaboration with both internal and external teams.
- Knowledge of SEO.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
- Basic graphic‑design skills (Canva, Photoshop).
- Ability to use social media channels to deliver marketing content.
- Fluent in English; knowledge of other languages is a bonus.
Skills Required:
- Translate business requirements and sales objectives into effective communication campaigns.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external partners to deliver projects to a high standard within tight deadlines.
- Enjoy multi‑tasking and coordinating numerous projects simultaneously.
- Work independently, identify opportunities within the business to further communication targets and create brand awareness.
- Provide clear strategic direction when briefing agencies to ensure quality output.
- Be a team player, sensitive toward targets, goals and objectives of the Marketing & Communications team and other business units within Lightsource bp.
