We are Lightsource bp – and we’re on a mission to become a global leader in onshore renewables, anchored by our proven track record in solar development. For over a decade we’ve been actively working to diversify the way our world is powered with sustainable and responsible renewable power. We work to safely deliver affordable, reliable, large‑scale onshore renewable and energy storage solutions to help the world decarbonise. Our growing business is constantly innovating and investing to help drive the energy transition. Our people and projects are focused on supporting long‑term sustainable growth and energy security. Lightsource bp operates with five core values: Safety, Integrity, Respect, Sustainability, and Drive.

As an AI Platforms Engineer, you'll help deliver the rollout and day‑to‑day administration of our enterprise AI platforms, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot. You'll support pilots, help users get the most out of the tools, run training sessions, and keep things ticking over behind the scenes. This is a hands‑on early‑career role for someone curious about AI, comfortable with Microsoft 365, and excited to learn how big organisations adopt new technology safely. There's a clear path to grow into a more senior platforms role as the function expands.

Responsibilities of the Role:

  • Support the rollout of AI platforms, such as Microsoft 365 Copilot across the business, including pilot waves, user onboarding, and post‑deployment support.
  • Carry out day‑to‑day administration tasks for AI platforms - licensing, basic configuration, user provisioning, and routine troubleshooting.
  • Help prepare and deliver training materials, "lunch and learn" sessions, and office hours that help colleagues use systems in their day to day.
  • Maintain documentation, FAQs, and internal knowledge content for the AI platforms we run.
  • Help collect and present adoption and usage data so the team can see what's working.
  • Triage user questions and platform issues, escalating to senior team members or specialised teams (Identity, Security, Information Protection) when needed.
  • Work with the Information Protection team on practical tasks that improve content readiness for platforms (e.g. helping with sensitivity labels and access hygiene).
  • Get exposure to our Snowflake‑based advanced AI platform (Cortex Code, Cortex Agents) and support early users where helpful.
  • Keep up with the platform roadmaps and bring useful new features to the team's attention.
  • Build small Low-Code solutions where they help solve practical problems.

Experience & Knowledge Required:

  • 2 to 4 years' experience in IT, platform engineering, technology operations, or enterprise SaaS administration in a corporate environment.
  • Hands‑on experience administering the Microsoft 365 environment, including admin centres (M365, Teams, SharePoint, Exchange Online), licensing, user provisioning, and configuration.
  • Prior experience as the named admin for a team, function, or enterprise tenant is strongly preferred.
  • Power user of enterprise AI tools.
  • Confident, daily user of Microsoft 365 Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or equivalent.
  • Practical knowledge of how enterprise AI tools are governed and adopted inside large organisations, including content readiness, access hygiene, sensitivity labelling, and responsible AI use.
  • Practical experience contributing to a technology rollout or adoption programme, including pilots, user onboarding, training delivery, or post‑deployment support.
  • General awareness of the broader Microsoft enterprise technology landscape, including identity and access (Entra ID), data protection (Purview), and how IT, Security, and Information Protection teams work together.
  • Prior experience with Quickbase, or another Low‑Code platform such as Power Apps, Power Automate, Mendix, OutSystems, or Appian, is a plus.
  • Prior admin or power‑user experience on other common enterprise platforms (e.g. ServiceNow, Salesforce, Workday) is a plus.
  • Awareness of multi‑region AI regulation such as the EU AI Act is a plus.

Skills Required:

  • Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Confident explaining technical concepts to non‑technical colleagues, producing clean documentation, and presenting in small group settings.
  • Ability to plan and run user‑facing enablement activity (training sessions, demos, office hours, "lunch and learn" formats) independently and to a professional standard.
  • Pragmatic delivery skills.
  • Genuine curiosity about AI and the discipline to learn fast in a category that is still evolving.
  • Collaborative working style.
  • Analytical mindset.
  • Hands‑on experience with Python, SQL, and AI‑assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code is a plus.

Education Required:

  • A degree, apprenticeship, or equivalent practical experience in a relevant area such as computer science, information systems, business technology, or a related discipline.
  • Certifications are not required, but the following are welcome: Microsoft 365 Certified: Copilot and Agent Administration Fundamentals (AB-900), Microsoft Certified: Power Platform Fundamentals (PL-900).

Why you’ll want to work for us:

  • Our company is a place where you can be yourself and grow, a place where your ideas and opinions matter.
  • We pride ourselves on being an inclusive community, where every individual is valued and treated with respect.
  • Our culture is driven by our core values – from operating safely to ensuring our projects are responsible.
  • Alongside a competitive salary, we offer a variety of benefits including annual bonus, retention bank, health insurance, pension and other local benefits.
  • Beyond your day‑to‑day working life at Lightsource bp, there’s a variety of initiatives that will contribute to your own personal development.

This is a rare moment to join an enterprise AI function at the point where it scales. You will be one of the people who delivers that, not someone watching it happen from the sidelines.
