Overview
As VAT Advisor, you will manage indirect tax filings across multiple jurisdictions, coordinating with Outsourced Service Providers and Group Finance. You will provide VAT/GST advisory support, audits, and due diligence, shaping tax strategies for M&A and divestment projects. You will work with the Tax and Finance teams to ensure accurate filings, data integrity, and compliant processes, while exploring improvements through technology and governance. This role offers exposure to cross-border tax issues, multi-jurisdictional planning, and opportunities to influence the tax landscape in a growing renewables leader.

Responsibilities
- Oversee timely VAT/GST filings prepared by OSPs and ensure accurate submissions
- Review VAT/GST returns and confirm timely payment and recording of liabilities
- Act as primary contact for OSPs and Group Finance; coordinate data and communications
- Review month-end VAT reconciliations and journal postings
- Provide indirect tax advisory support including due diligence and structuring for M&A/divestments
- Advise on transactional VAT/GST issues, cash-flow optimization, and tax planning
- Identify compliance risks and take corrective actions; support VAT/GST audits
- Assist with VAT/GST registrations, groupings, and monitoring legislative changes
- Identify improvement opportunities for VAT/GST compliance processes and support technology implementations
Key requirements
- 4-5 years in VAT/GST compliance (preparation, review, submission) in practice or in-house
- Understanding of VAT principles (e.g., reverse charge)
- Experience with VAT accounting/reconciliations
- Excellent Excel skills
- Ability to work unsupervised and under pressure with tight deadlines
- Experience managing multiple OSPs and responding to tax authorities
- Experience providing VAT/GST technical advice including M&A and structuring
- Ability to design and challenge external compliance processes; proactive risk identification
- SAP S/4 HANA experience is beneficial
- APAC GST experience (Australia, New Zealand) advantageous
