The Global Portfolio Planning team works across the APAC, EMEA, and AMER regions, supporting the planning and performance tracking of renewable energy projects throughout their lifecycle. The intern will have the opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams across the organisation and contribute to improving how portfolio data is structured, analysed, and visualised across the business. The Intern will support the Global Portfolio Planning team in analyzing and improving data visibility across the company's project portfolio. This role will involve working with project data across the full lifecycle of assets – from development to construction and operations – helping to consolidate data sources, improve reporting, and develop analytical tools using the Microsoft ecosystem. This internship offers hands‑on experience with real business data, exposure to multiple teams across the organization, and the opportunity to contribute to automation and data‑driven decision making within a global renewable energy company.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of a Global Asset Register, consolidating project data across development, construction, and operational assets.
- Assist with data consolidation and cleaning, including loading datasets into the company's Data Cloud (Snowflake) and integrating data from internal systems and other business platforms.
- Contribute to the development and enhancement of Power BI dashboards to improve visibility of the global project portfolio.
- Support the improvement and global rollout of a Development Cost Allocation Tool (DCAT, developed in Power BI) across the three regions EMEA, APAC, and AMER.
- Help document data models, dashboards, and reporting processes to ensure transparency and maintainability.
- Work with stakeholders across development, construction, finance, and operations teams to understand data requirements and improve reporting capabilities.
- Assist in exploring opportunities for automation and efficiency improvements using tools such as Power BI, Power Apps, and other Microsoft technologies.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of data analysis and data visualisation concepts, including how to interpret datasets and present insights clearly.
- Power BI knowledge is required, with an interest in building dashboards and working with business intelligence and data analytics tools.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail when working with data, along with an interest in understanding how large organisations manage project portfolios and infrastructure development.
- Interest in the renewable energy sector and the energy transition, with curiosity about how large‑scale renewable projects are developed and built.
- Data engineering or data management exposure is an advantage, but not essential.
