Lightsource bp is on a mission to become a global leader in onshore renewables, anchored by our proven track record in solar development. For over a decade we’ve been actively working to diversify the way our world is powered with sustainable and responsible renewable power. We work to safely deliver affordable, reliable, large-scale onshore renewable and energy storage solutions to help the world decarbonise. Our growing business is constantly innovating and investing to help drive the energy transition. Our people and projects are focused on supporting long-term sustainable growth and energy security.
This role is instrumental in delivering the regional power market strategy for Europe which is a key geographical focus for our ambitious plan for growth. The main focus is to develop and implement offtake strategies for projects in the development pipeline by securing Power Purchase Agreements, BESS tolling agreements, or delivering other innovative structured transactions. This includes marketing, origination, and negotiation of power transactions with utilities, corporates and Data Center developers. There is a multi-country approach with a shorter-term focus in Southern Europe and the UK, expanding in other European markets as and when required. The maturation of new technologies (such as BESS) and the rapid growth in the data centre and AI sectors require Lightsource bp originators to innovate quickly, crafting and closing new types of deals—from hybrid solar, wind, and BESS offtakes to private wire and behind-the-meter co-development partnerships with data centres.
Duties And Responsibilities

- Work with suppliers and other market participants to develop innovative routes to market products and structures to secure bankable revenue to support solar development.
- Work with legal department, structured finance and other internal stakeholders to negotiate heads of terms & PPA/tolling contracts.
- Liaise with structured finance, development and commercial managers to create power marketing solutions that optimise funding opportunities and enable pipeline development.
- Understand developments in the European markets and energy policy and the impact these will have on Power marketing in order to keep Lightsource BP at the forefront of the market.
