Digital forensics often acts as a conduit, linking together key steps of an engagement-- as a first step in gathering evidence, an intermediate step in establishing the facts of a case, a final step in preparing for examination in court—and it requires both strategic understanding of behaviors and outcomes, and tactical skills to put knowledge into action. The talented individuals who make up Lighthouse’s digital forensics team have decades of combined experience across the collection, investigation, and analysis continuum, and hail from careers in security technology, software development, eDiscovery, law enforcement, and the military. The diversity of background and technical acumen within the Lighthouse digital forensics team ensures that we can provide services across a plethora of use cases, using transparent, documented, and defensible workflows and methodologies.Senior Forensic Associates are responsible for onsite and remote collection of electronically stored information (ESI) from computers, mobile devices, collaboration apps and cloud repositories. Using state-of-the-art technology, they process and analyze data in support of forensic investigations and litigation.What will this person do?Perform forensically sound collections of ESI from laptops, desktops, mobile devices, hard drives, servers and cloud data sources both onsite and remotely. Verify, extract and analyze data in support of investigations and litigation Conduct custodian interviews to identify relevant data sourcesProvide proactive status updates to both internal and external clients Prepare remote collection kits for redeployment Log and track evidence, update chain of custody logs and follow evidence management best practicesEnter billable time and descriptions into billing system. Perform other related duties as assignedBring your passion and together we will shine. It would also be great if you have the following:Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experienceTwo to four years of experience in Digital ForensicsAt least one security or digital forensics industry certifications, such as CISSP, EnCE, CCE, CFCE, MCFE, or similarAbility to multi-task, analyze and problem solve, and coach less other experienced members.Proficient in the use of EnCase, AccessData Forensic Toolkit, XWays, Cellebrite UFED and Physical Analyzer, Cellebrite Inspector (formerly Blacklight), Axiom or open-source forensic toolsStrong mastery of data collection, preservation, and chain of custody principles and proceduresAn understanding of file systems, computer hardware and computer networking conceptsStrong Mac, Linux / UNIX, other operating systems experience is a plusWork Environment and Physical DemandsDuties are performed in a typical office environment while at a desk or computer tableDuties require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed material, in a quiet and professional settingDuties may require being on call periodically and working outside normal working hours (evenings and weekends)Lighthouse celebrates and thrives on diversity and is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
