We have a fantastic new vacancy for a Kitchen Porter at Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West. Courtyard by Marriott Edinburgh West is a 160 bedroom hotel situated on the leafy Heriot-Watt University campus, with a state-of-the-art lobby and 'The Avenue' at the centre of it all. The hotel is managed by Lighthouse Hotel Management, the operating arm of the Molo Hotel Group.
As the Hotel Kitchen Porter, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Kitchen Function in the delivery of an exceptional and memorable dining experience to each of our guests.
Responsibilities- Passion for Excellence: In line with legislation and hotel policies and procedures, understand, implement and deliver the highest standards of legal compliance regarding food safety, food hygiene and food allergens. Minimise cross-contamination and risk to staff and guests while catering to all cuisine needs.
- Collaboration: Support the kitchen function and the food and beverage team, using teamwork to achieve maximum customer satisfaction and create an enchanting dining experience for every guest.
- Kitchen Representation: Maintain a clean, hygienic and compliant working environment; actively pursue tasks within the kitchen that meet hotel standards and expectations. Follow all guidance and seek confirmation where required regarding food handling, preparation and workstation expectations.
- Prior experience in a similar role may be beneficial but is not essential, as full on-the-job training will be provided.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written. Additional language proficiency is a bonus.
- A drive to work as part of a team to exceed expectations and promote the hotel’s brand and services.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays, as the hotel operates 24/7.
