We’re building something ambitious, and we’re looking for a talented UI/UX Designer to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract and help shape the player experience of our next-generation.

As a UI/UX Designer, you’ll play a key role in designing intuitive, engaging and visually compelling user experiences across the game.

You’ll be responsible for understanding player needs, developing user flows and creating interfaces that are both functional and enjoyable to use.

Working closely with our Design, Art, UX and Engineering teams, you’ll take ideas from early concepts and wireframes through to polished, fully implemented game-ready experiences.

You’ll have the opportunity to influence how players interact with the game and help establish a consistent, intuitive approach to UI/UX across the project.

This is a hands-on role where your creative thinking, problem-solving skills, attention to detail and understanding of player-focused design will have a direct impact on the final game.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Designing intuitive and engaging UI/UX experiences for a AAA game.
  • Working closely with Game Designers, Artists, Engineers and other disciplines to understand player needs and design requirements.
  • Creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity interface designs.
  • Designing menus, HUDs, navigation systems, screens, interactions and other in-game experiences.
  • Taking concepts from initial ideas through to final implementation within the game.
  • Working with Unreal Engine to implement, test and refine UI/UX experiences.
  • Collaborating with engineers and technical artists to ensure designs are practical and deliverable.
  • Applying strong UX principles to create clear, accessible and intuitive player experiences.
  • Iterating on designs based on playtesting, player feedback and usability requirements.
  • Contributing to the development and evolution of the game's overall UI/UX design language.
  • Maintaining consistency across the game's interface and wider player experience.
  • Supporting the wider UI/UX team and contributing to a positive, collaborative development environment.

Requirements

  • Previous experience working as a UI/UX Designer, UX Designer, Game UI Designer or similar role within the games industry.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating excellent UI/UX design and problem-solving.
  • Experience designing UI/UX for games.
  • A strong understanding of user-centred design, visual hierarchy, typography, composition, colour and interaction design.
  • Experience creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes and high-fidelity designs.
  • A strong understanding of usability and player experience.
  • Experience working with Unreal Engine or a similar game engine.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a willingness to iterate and refine your work.
  • The ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, highly collaborative development environment.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience with Unreal Engine 5.
  • Experience implementing UI/UX directly within a game engine.
  • Knowledge of UX research and user testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with motion, animation and interactive UI.
  • Experience designing UI/UX for AAA games.
  • Experience collaborating closely with game designers and engineers throughout the development process.
