As a Senior Material Artist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Art team with your specialist knowledge of material creation on a ground-breaking new IP. Supported by our Art Leadership, Technical Artists, and Scanning Artists, and leveraging the power of Unreal Engine – you will have everything needed to make world-class content.
Key Duties Include:
- Develop high-quality PBR materials that meet AAA standards, enhancing the visual fidelity of our projects.
- Work closely with Environment, Foliage, Scanning, Character, and Vehicle art teams to author sophisticated materials and shaders that integrate seamlessly across different aspects of the game.
- Working with Technical Artists and Render Engineers to define new material shaders.
- Defining and documenting the material creation pipeline, establishing clear parameters and workflows that enhance efficiency and consistency across the team.
- Seeking out and engaging with opportunities to increase quality or productivity.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in creating realistic PBR-compliant materials.
- Proven experience working with real-time game projects and render engines.
- Proficiency with node-based material authoring tools such as Substance Suite.
- Proficiency with 3D authoring and rendering software such as 3ds Max, Blender, Marmoset, or equivalent.
- Strong organisational skills and disciplined work habits.
Desirable:
- Knowledge of photogrammetry and photography.
- Unreal Engine experience.
- Knowledge of geology, architecture or dendrology.
- Interest in motorsport.
