Lighthouse Games is seeking a passionate and experienced Senior Engine Engineer to join our dynamic team based in Leamington Spa. As a key member of our AAA studio, you will play a critical role in developing a cutting-edge game that pushes the boundaries of technology and creativity. In this role, you will leverage your in-depth knowledge of engine design and rendering systems to create innovative solutions that enhance gameplay experiences.
You will collaborate with a talented group of engineers and artists, focusing on delivering high-quality, scalable, and efficient systems. Your responsibilities will include designing and implementing core engine features, optimizing performance, mentoring junior engineers, and conducting code reviews to ensure best practices are followed. You will contribute to an environment that fosters creativity and collaboration, driving our project towards success.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, implement and optimize engine systems to meet the demands of game performance and visual fidelity.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to integrate engine features that enhance gameplay and user experience.
- Mentor junior engineers and promote best coding practices throughout the engineering team.
- Conduct code reviews, ensuring high-quality standards and maintainability of the codebase.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies that can be leveraged to improve game development processes.
- Experience as an Engine or Rendering Engineer in the gaming industry with shipped AAA titles.
- Strong proficiency in C++ and experience with engine architecture and optimisation techniques.
- Thorough understanding of rendering technology, graphics APIs, and performance profiling tools.
- Experience with large-scale game projects, including planning, execution, and delivering completed features on schedule.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
- A passion for video games and a strong desire to work on high-quality, innovative projects.
- Familiarity with current-generation console architectures.
- Experience with Unreal Engine (4 or 5).
