Lighthouse Games is a new AAA studio in Leamington Spa, dedicated to creating unforgettable gaming experiences through high-quality storytelling and captivating visuals. We are looking for a passionate and experienced Senior Cinematics Designer to join our talented team. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing and creating cinematic sequences that enhance the narrative and emotional impact of our games. As a Senior Cinematics Designer, you will collaborate closely with directors, writers, artists, and animators to craft cinematic experiences that resonate with players and bring our stories to life. Your creative vision and technical expertise will be critical in creating visually stunning and engaging cutscenes and in-game cinematics.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, direct, and produce high-quality cinematic sequences that align with the overall narrative and artistic vision of the game.
- Collaborate with writers and directors to translate scripts and storyboards into immersive cinematic experiences.
- Work closely with animators, artists, and sound designers to ensure seamless integration of visuals, audio, and gameplay elements in cinematic sequences.
- Implement and optimize cutscenes within game engines, ensuring they perform well across various platforms.
- Iterate on cinematic design based on feedback from the team and playtesting to ensure the highest quality output.
- Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in cinematic design and storytelling techniques.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Cinematics Designer, Narrative Designer, or similar role in the gaming industry.
- Strong portfolio showcasing a range of cinematic work, including character-driven storytelling, animation, and visual direction.
- Proficiency in cinematic design tools and software, such as Unreal Engine, Unity, or proprietary cinematic systems.
- Solid understanding of cinematic principles, including composition, pacing, and storytelling mechanics.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to take and provide constructive feedback.
- Passion for gaming and storytelling, with a keen interest in exploring new techniques and technologies to enhance cinematic experiences.
